The Victoria is an award-winning gastropub located in the stunning Surrey Hills. Situated in the affluent village of Oxshott, known as a hotbed of celebrities, you will find it in between the M25 and A3.
This week in The Times, it was named as one of the best restaurants and pubs for a Sunday roast in the UK according to top chefs. Opened in 2021 under the guidance of renowned chef Matt Larcombe (previously with Heston Blumenthal and Michael Wignall) and hospitality expert Simon King (formerly of Ramsay, Fat Duck, Danny Myer, D&D), The Victoria has become a celebrated destination for both locals and visitors.
Offering a modern British menu complemented by an exceptional wine list, The Victoria is the ultimate indulgent escape to the countryside, and the Sunday roasts are out of this world. Served with fresh seasonal vegetables, triple cooked roast potatoes, silky hot gravy and a huge Yorkshire pudding, there are meat and vegetarian options available as well as an epic Hereford Tomahawk to share for £130.

Hearty roasts are available every Sunday from 12pm until 5.30pm and can be enjoyed next to a roaring log fire, or if you are with a party, in one of two private dining rooms which accommodate six to eight people.
In just two years since its opening, The Victoria has accumulated a collection of accolades. Its most recent achievements include a listing in Britain’s 100 Best Local Restaurants for 2023 in The Good Food Guide, affirming its place amongst the UK’s finest dining establishments.
The gastropub has also been dubbed ‘One to Watch’ in the Top 50 Gastropubs 2023, demonstrating its emergence as a culinary star. It also gained this year the AA Notable Wine Award from the AA Restaurant Guide.
The Victoria proudly boasts a Three AA Rosettes distinction and the most recent feather in The Victoria’s cap is the AA Notable Wine Award from the AA Restaurant Guide for 2023, underscoring the superb quality of its wine selection.
At its heart, The Victoria is a charming country pub welcoming families including four legged friends. The dark wooden furniture, exposed brickwork and decadent décor, creates a cosy and relaxing atmsphere.
Nestled amidst the scenic Surrey Hills, The Victoria is an ideal starting point or rewarding destination, when exploring the lush woodlands, rolling hills, and breathtaking landscapes that Surrey is renowned for. Within Oxshott, the pub is perfectly positioned for a walk, or cycle, within Prince’s Coverts woodland (known locally as Oxshott Woods) accessed at Prince’s Gate on Leatherhead Road and Oxshott Heath, adjacent to Oxshott station.
