Many Pittsburgh Steelers fans were somewhat worried when Ben Roethlisberger retired from playing football that he would completely disappear from the public eye. He has never consistently used social media or showed any interest in becoming an analyst or commentator. However, since retiring Roethlisberger has been very public and even started his own podcast. Now, he is set to star in a movie titled Triangle Park which will release the day before Thanksgiving.

Roethlisberger will be part of a very star-studded cast in this movie. Cris Collinsworth, Eric Dickerson, Joe Buck, Sean McVay, Kirk Herbstreit, Larry Fitzgerald and more impressive names from the sports world will be featured. The movie tells the story of the first ever NFL game and all of the events surrounding it.
On IMDB, it is said that Roethlisberger will be playing himself in the movie and that’s all that is known about his role and how much he will be in the movie. On the movies official movie poster, Roethlisberger is the first name listed so his presence in the film must be fairly substantial.
The movie has slowly been releasing in certain areas of the country, but it will release in all NFL cities on November 22nd. The film is a biopic of sorts with actual actors who will be acting out the story of how the first NFL game came to be and what happened during the game.
Throughout the movie, NFL players of past and present will be giving their opinions of how the NFL came to be, what they learned from the story, and other fun details about the history of the NFL. This is likely what Roethlisberger will be doing in this movie.
This won’t be Roethlisberger’s first time on the big screen. He had a small part in the 2012 movie The Dark Knight Rises, which was the third and final movie in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Terry Bradshaw has had himself quite an acting career. He has played himself on many different network sitcoms, but he has also taken on new characters in a few blockbusters and TV shows.
Bradshaw had what is likely his most notable acting performance in the movie Failure To Launch where he acted alongside Matthew McConaughey, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Bates. In the movie, he plays the father of McConaughey’s character who still lives with his parents and is single and showing no signs of going anywhere with his life. Bradshaw’s character then hires some help to try and get his son to move out of his house. Overall, the movie is considered to be just a funny romantic comedy that didn’t do too well with critics. It did $130.2 million at the box office with just a $50 million budget.
Bradshaw did some acting towards the end of his career, but the majority of his acting career came after he retired from football. It seems like Roethlisberger could be trending in a similar direction. Roethlisberger’s role in his upcoming movie is likely just as an interviewee, but it could open the door for a possible acting career for him if that is something he’d want to pursue.
