Bollywood superstars to perform at IFFI opening ceremony tomorrow

PANJIM: Goa is all set to host the 54th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) from Monday, November 20, with Bollywood superstars performing at the Opening ceremony.
Shahid Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit along with Shriya Saran, Nushratt Bharucha, Pankaj Tripathi, Shantanu Moitra, Shreya Ghoshal and Sukhwinder Singh will be the star performers at the gala event. Several dignitaries are expected to be present, along with eminent personalities from Indian cinema, including Sunny Deol, Vijay Sethupathi, Sara Ali Khan, Karan Johar, at the opening ceremony, to be hosted by Aparshakti Khurrana and Karishma Tanna.

Speaking at the curtain raiser press conference for the 54th IFFI, Prithul Kumar, managing director of NFDC and Joint Secretary Films, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that the nine-day festival will have many new features in store for the film enthusiasts coming from across the country and globe. It is for the first time, 13 world premiers will be showcased in IFFI. These are the international films screened for the first time. In addition, there will be 18 international premiers, 62 Asia premiers and 89 India premiers. In total, 198 international films will be screened during this IFFI. There will be special sections on world documentary, restored classical films for the first time in IFFI. OTT awards have been instituted and they will be announced at the closing ceremony. Third edition of 75 young creative minds will have two days of master class. One day talent hunt has also been introduced this year for creative minds. Another unique addition this year is the special effect pavilion in which Amazon Prime, Netflix and Sony will have their stalls amongst others.
