
PATNA: With the footfall of passengers visiting Bihar from other places on the rise on Chhath, the Railway Board has approved running of 17 more special passenger trains to meet the rush. This is in addition to 125 pairs of special trains already operational on different routes.
Chief public relations officer of East Central Railway Birendra Kumar said among the new trains, Saharsa-Raipur special (05576) left Saharsaat 5.20pm on Friday.The train will reachRaipur at 6pm on Saturday. Darbhanga-Ahmedabad special (05522) will leave Darbhanga at 6.15pm and reach Ahmedabad the next day at 5pm.
Jabalpur-Danapur special (01705/01706) will leave Jabalpur at 7.45pm on November 22 and reach Danapur the next day at 8.45am. The same train will leave Danapur at 11.45am on November 23 and reach Jabalpur the next day at 12.10am. Darbhanga-New Delhi special (02253) left Darbhanga at 6pm on Friday and it will reach New Delhi at 2.15pm on Saturday.
The other trains approved by the Railway Board are New Delhi-Purnia special (04069/04070) and Mumbai-Danapur special (01150/01151). The railways has also decided to run special trains on Patna-Anand Vihar, Howrah-Patna, Howrah-Gaya, Ajmer-Barauni, Danapur-Manmad, Danapur-Nagpur, Danapur-Bhusawal, Puri-Jayanagar and Udhna-Katihar routes to clear the Chhath rush.
